Kill Race: the Solwaris Play to Earn Tournament, and How It Works
The Kill Race is the monthly tournament of Solwaris, the turn-based tactics duel game. A $50 prize pool in USDC, ten paid places, live standings. Here are its exact rules, what counts and what does not, and what to know before you stake anything.

Most play to earn games pay in tokens: you farm, you sell, and the token price decides what is left. The Kill Race in Solwaris starts from a different idea. It is a short tournament with a fixed prize pool in USDC, a dollar-pegged stablecoin, and standings that measure one thing only: the staked matches you won against other players.
This article sets out the rules as the game applies them, with no gloss. It also says what does not count, and why a stake can be lost.
The Kill Race at a glance
- Prize pool: $50 in USDC, shared by the top ten.
- Duration: the current race ends on October 31, 2026, at midnight Paris time.
- The rule: 1 USDC won = 1 point. A win in a staked match at 1, 5 or 10 USDC earns 1, 5 or 10 points.
- Formats: 1v1 and 2v2 both count.
- Payout: in USDC, to the Solana wallet linked to your account, once the race is closed and checked.
What earns points, and what does not
Only a won staked match counts. Stakes are 1, 5 or 10 USDC, and the match stake sets the points: 1 USDC won is 1 point, 10 USDC won is 10 points.
In 2v2, both winners score the stake’s points. A team win counts as much for you as for your ally.
These do not count:
- free matches, ranked or not;
- training against the AI;
- losses and draws;
- a match that was refunded, or whose payout did not go through.
Standings and prizes

The glowing KILL RACE button on the menu shows the prize pool and the time left. It opens the race panel: the podium, the live standings, your rank, and a Play a paid match button.
The top ten are paid in this order:
| Place | Prize |
|---|---|
| 1st | $21 |
| 2nd | $13 |
| 3rd | $6 |
| 4th | $3 |
| 5th | $2 |
| 6th to 10th | $1 each |
On a tie, the player who reached the total first ranks higher. Prizes are paid in USDC to the linked wallet, after the race closes and the checks are done.
A staked match, from start to finish
The match itself does not change: it is the Solwaris tactical duel, turn by turn, with 12 AP and 6 MP per turn and one of 6 heroes (Warrior, Brute, Arcanist, Shade, Clockmaker, Artificer). The rules are the same as in a free match.

What changes is the money, and it follows precise steps:
- Confirmation. Before every match, each player has 10 seconds to accept. Nothing is charged until both have accepted.
- Escrow. Both stakes move to an address dedicated to that single match. A draw returns each stake.
- Settlement. The winner receives the pot, minus a fee of 25% of the stake (12.5% of the pot), which bonuses can lower. The details are on the Economy page of the guide.
Anti-cheat rules
The temptation in a tournament with a prize pool is well known: two accounts playing each other on repeat, one letting itself lose to push the other up. Two rules apply:
- two opponents playing from the same IP address, the same connection: the match does not count;
- a fixed match can be cancelled, and its points removed.
Every match that counts stays tied to the Solana signatures of its stake and its payout: it is always possible to check that the money actually moved.
