Dofus PvP in 2026: Kolossium, Challenges, Aggression, and Where to Play 1v1

Dofus PvP is more than the Kolossium. Here are the four ways to fight other players in 2026, what each one demands, the principles that win fights, and what is left if all you want is the duel.

Dofus is first and foremost a game of monsters, dungeons and professions. But some players stay for one thing only: beating another human. In 2026, on Dofus 3, PvP comes in several forms, with different rules and different demands. Some start in two clicks; others require a level 200 character geared for that mode.

This article goes through the modes, then the principles that decide a fight between players, and ends with an option for those who only want the duel.

The four ways to PvP in Dofus

ModeFormatWhat you needWhat you win
Kolossium1v1, 2v2 or 3v3, against strangersLevel 20 at leastRating, league, Kolossokens, seasonal cosmetics
ChallengeFriendly fight between two playersAn opponent who acceptsNothing: no loss, no gain
AggressionAligned player against aligned playerAn alignment (Bonta or Brakmar) and PvP mode switched onHonour points, ranks
Perceptors and PrismsTeam against team, between alliancesAn alliance, and territory to defendResources, control of areas

One thing this whole table has in common: a free account does not get far. It stays confined to Incarnam, Astrub and its surroundings, and has no access to faction PvP. Since Dofus 3 launched on 3 December 2024, the monthly subscription costs €5.99.

The Kolossium: ranked PvP in Dofus

The Kolossium is Dofus’s arena. You register from a dedicated interface, the game looks for opponents across all servers, and you keep playing while you wait for a fight to be found.

It has changed a lot in fifteen years. The milestones that matter:

  • 2017 (update 2.41): the Kolossium goes cross-server, the 1v1 mode appears, and the minimum level drops from 50 to 20.
  • 2018 (2.48): leagues and seasons arrive, at the time for 3v3 only.
  • December 2023 (2.70): a new 2v2 queue, registration alone or as a group, the solo and team 3v3 queues merged, two separate brackets (levels 20 to 199, and level 200). Rating now directly decides the league, the Crystal league becomes Platinum, and a unanimous forfeit vote is possible from the third turn.

Today, guides to Dofus 3 therefore describe a Kolossium in 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3, each mode with its own rating. A win earns Kolossokens, the currency you trade for PvP gear and items, and each season adds cosmetic rewards.

Challenges and aggression: PvP in the open world

The challenge, for practice

The challenge is the simplest PvP: you click on a player, challenge them, and they accept or refuse. There is no loss and no gain: no health, kamas or experience at stake. It is the ideal tool for testing gear, rehearsing a spell sequence with a friend, or settling a disagreement fairly.

Its weakness is also its strength: with nothing at stake, a challenge says little about your real level.

Aggression, for the thrill

Players who pick an alignment, Bonta or Brakmar, can switch on their PvP mode, which makes their wings appear. They can then attack a player from the opposite alignment who is also in PvP mode. A win earns honour points, which raise your rank.

This is the “wild” PvP of Dofus, historic and unpredictable: your opponent is not necessarily your level, and the fight starts wherever you happen to meet.

Perceptors and Prisms, for alliances

Perceptors gather resources for their owners; they can be attacked, and their owners can come and defend them, up to five against five. Prisms mark an alliance’s control of an area. This kind of PvP is collective and political, and it demands an organisation that solo players do not always have.

What wins a PvP fight in Dofus

Modes change and classes are rebalanced with every version, but a few principles hold from one season to the next.

  1. Act first. In the opening turns, whoever moves first chooses the distance and lands spells before the other can react.
  2. Remove AP and MP. An opponent who can no longer move or cast their big spell does nothing to you. Control wins more fights than raw damage.
  3. Choose the distance. A long-range class decides when the exchange begins; a melee class must close the gap or lose.
  4. End your turn in the right place. Behind an obstacle, out of line of sight, away from a wall you could be pushed into.
  5. Know the matchup. In 1v1, every class has its difficult opponents. Knowing what the other player can do next turn is worth more than an extra point of damage.

The limits of Dofus PvP

Dofus PvP is deep, but it has an entry cost its players know well:

  • Preparation. A competitive character needs gear designed for its mode and level bracket. Levelling and equipping a level 200 character takes weeks.
  • The subscription. A free account opens only a small part of the game.
  • Waiting. Depending on the time of day, the queue and your rating, finding a Kolossium fight can take a while.
  • Mixed causes. A loss can come from your play, your gear or the team composition: it is sometimes hard to know what you should have improved.

None of this is a flaw in itself: it is the price of a full MMORPG, where PvP is one activity among many. But if only the fighting appeals to you, other games isolate it.

Solwaris: Dofus-style 1v1, without the preparation

A Solwaris fight: the Clockmaker against the Warrior, with +2 AP shown after a swap
In Solwaris (not Dofus): the Clockmaker gets 2 AP back by swapping places, while the Warrior advances under its banner.

Solwaris is a turn-based 1v1 tactical duel you play in a browser, with no download and no sign-up. It keeps what makes Dofus PvP exciting and strips out everything else:

  • every turn, 12 AP and 6 MP (the Arcanist has 14 AP, the Shade 7 MP, the Clockmaker 5 MP), never carried over to the next turn;
  • spells with range, cost, line of sight and cooldown; pushes into walls, AP and MP removal, invisible traps;
  • no levels and no gear: two players of the same class start with exactly the same tools, so a loss can only be explained by how you played;
  • a turn of 40 seconds at most, a fight that ends at 40 turns: a match fits in a few minutes;
  • an initiative auction before the first turn, paid in coins earned by playing: going first is something you decide, not something that happens to you.

The 6 classes have a family resemblance you will recognise: the Shade traps like a Sram, the Clockmaker steals AP like a Xelor, the Artificer mines the ground like a Rogue.

Ranking works by league, with a separate Elo rating for each class. There is also Training against the AI, a spectator mode and 2 vs 2. To be honest about the main limit: the game is young and its community small. At off-peak hours the queue can stay empty for a while; Training against the AI fills the wait.

The full rules, from AP to traps, are in the Solwaris guide. And if you are looking more broadly for other tactics games, see our pick of the best free turn-based games.
